ProfitScanner ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use the ProfitScanner mobile application, website, and related services ("Services"). By using ProfitScanner, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we may collect:

  • email address
  • authentication identifiers
  • account creation date
  • subscription status

Authentication may be provided through:

  • Apple Sign In
  • Google Sign In
  • Firebase Authentication

Uploaded Images and Scan Data

When using the scan feature, users may upload:

  • item photos
  • resale scan requests
  • pricing inputs
  • saved inventory items

These images and requests may be processed by AI services to generate resale estimates and item analysis.

Usage Data, Analytics, and Diagnostics

We may collect analytics and diagnostic information related to app usage, including:

  • onboarding completion
  • scan activity and scan counts
  • inventory actions
  • subscription activity
  • subscription interactions
  • session activity
  • general feature usage
  • crash reports
  • device/browser information
  • diagnostic information

Analytics data is used for aggregate product improvement and is not used to personally identify users.

Subscription and Purchase Information

Subscription purchases are processed through Apple App Store systems.

We do not directly store full payment card information.

Subscription management may use RevenueCat for entitlement and subscription handling.

2. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

  • provide scan and resale estimation features
  • process subscriptions and entitlements
  • authenticate users
  • improve app performance and reliability
  • analyze retention, user experience, and product performance
  • prevent abuse and fraud
  • support rate limiting and service reliability
  • provide customer support
  • monitor system health and usage

3. AI, Analytics, and Third-Party Processing

ProfitScanner uses third-party infrastructure, analytics services, diagnostics services, and AI services to operate the app, process scan requests, and provide item analysis.

These providers may include:

  • Firebase
  • Firebase Authentication
  • Firebase Firestore
  • Firebase Functions
  • Firebase Analytics
  • Google services
  • RevenueCat
  • Apple App Store services
These services may process data necessary to operate authentication, subscriptions, analytics, diagnostics, app functionality, and account features.
Uploaded item images may be temporarily processed by these systems to generate results.

4. Cloud Inventory and Scan Activity Storage

User data may be stored securely using cloud infrastructure, including Firebase services.
Saved inventory items, saved scan results, subscription status, and account information may be synchronized with cloud infrastructure associated with the authenticated account to support account functionality and future product features.
Scan history and estimated pricing activity may be temporarily retained for operational purposes including rate limiting, abuse prevention, diagnostics, analytics, and service reliability.
We take reasonable measures to protect stored data but cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information.

We may share limited data:

  • with service providers necessary to operate the app,
  • to comply with legal obligations,
  • or to protect the security and integrity of the Services.

ProfitScanner does not log raw images, item titles, emails, user IDs, exact item descriptions, or transaction IDs into analytics. Analytics are used for aggregate product improvement.

6. Subscription Management

Subscriptions are managed through Apple App Store billing systems.

RevenueCat may be used to:

  • verify purchases,
  • manage entitlements,
  • restore purchases,
  • and support subscription functionality.

7. User Rights

Users may request:

  • access to their data,
  • correction of inaccurate information,
  • deletion of account-related information,
  • and deletion of associated cloud-stored inventory data.
Account deletion requests remove authenticated account data and associated saved inventory records from ProfitScanner-controlled systems.

Some limited records may be retained only where required for legal, fraud prevention, security, or operational reasons.

8. Children's Privacy

ProfitScanner is not intended for children under 13 years old.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Third-Party Links and Services

The Services may reference or integrate third-party services.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external platforms or providers.

10. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information.
However, no system is completely secure, and use of the Services is at your own risk.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically.
Continued use of the Services after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
